PainA Poem by mess of gorgeous chaos
Physiological pain exists to protect us from harm in the long run. If you don't feel pain, how will you know when you've been hurt and need to take special attention to your body? It also teaches us lessons; what to do and what not to do. If you didn't feel pain when touching a hot stove, how else will you know it will start to melt your skin?
Psychological pain just might be like that too. It teaches us lessons and while it might hurt, it prevents us from feeling greater future hurt and hurting others. If we don't feel pain, how will we know who to trust and what is deserving of our time? How will we know that the right thing to do is to love, if we have never felt broken-hearted?
