death could come at any moment

death could come at any moment

A Poem by mess of gorgeous chaos

“Pew! You’re dead,” say the little boys; death a quick notion of moving hands into faux guns and nothing to be taken seriously.

When they grew to be teenagers they realized, that was merely being silly kids. Death is a tragedy mainly in movies and to people they don’t know, it almost doesn't feel like reality. They understand it happens to everyone eventually, but that’s just a thought to push to the side and worry about later. It doesn't just come out of nowhere like their friend’s hand guns when they were 7.

When they grew to be young adults they realized, maybe we weren't so naïve after all. Maybe in the blank slate of a child’s mind things were actually closer to reality. Maybe death is fast, normal, out of nowhere sometimes. It’s happening all around us. It could come at any moment: pew, you're dead.
