Expectations

Expectations

A Poem by Elizabeth Johns
"

A feminist poem that outlines the social pressures and expectations that men force upon women.

"

Stomach too large,

Thighs too fat.

Don’t dare show your shoulder,

Boys can’t handle that.

Even when you are tiny,

You are still too big.

Because the problem isn’t your size,

Nor is it the way you look.

The problem is the men,

Who just don’t want you to exist.

Ignoring the actual theme of the poem, I am confused as to if you just abandoned the rhyme scheme, or if the first one was an accident. The wording was also a bit simplistic. But don't let me get you too down, its a good poem, and you''l get better!
