Fairy Tales

Fairy Tales

A Poem by Elizabeth Boughner
"

A free verse for my potry project at school, not very great but hey thought I would put it up anyways

"

Dreary I awake, to a world so unreal.

In the clearing of a forest, a forest full of trees.

And on these trees were faces, faces that can see my soul.

Knowing all that I have done, from the good to the bad, and still they caste no judgment.

And when I wonder why I’m here they then begin to speak,

Speaking as if they know, exactly what’s on my mind.

A voice from not one, but all the trees and everyone of them speak my name.

When they speak, it sounds to me like wind blowing through leaves.

They tell the tale of woodland elves, the dragons and the trolls

With this they come to the end of the story, which was the best part of all

They spoke of fairies that brought me here, and how they came to be

But this I cannot speak of because the secret was bestowed to me.

I was brought to help the fair folk, out of a very troubled time.

And when I had finished, we all had to say our goodbyes.

I had an enchanting time in that wonderland of theirs, and wish I could go back

But here is where I am needed, so here I will stay.
