wanderessA Poem by NadiraDevileaving you behind and loving myselfno longer do I want your love better things have beckoned me towards them the swaying of trees the blinding rays of sunshine the echoes of birds chirping the cheesy smile of beautiful children the innocence of the world have whispered my name from afar and I long to pack up and shift into where my name is being called so that I can find in this world that you occupy with me and billions others where I belong once upon a time I truly believed that it was with you but you made it clear you weren't my home and you weren't where I belonged but yet I chose to stay, where I wasn't welcomed, and I burnt down my pride and sold you my identity just to have a safe haven in you you shook me off of your bones the same way you would of an insect until I was forced to leave so you see, just because you left me homeless and without just because someone else has occupied your bones that I longed to dwell in and you howl in joy that I am deserted the world is still spinning and it calls out to me to twirl atop it
