THOUGH YOU'RE FAR AWAY

THOUGH YOU'RE FAR AWAY

A Poem by elitheport
"

You may be thousands of miles away but you are still here with me

"

THOUGH YOU’RE FAR AWAY

Over cloud, expanses of moving emptiness

Take my heart and my thoughts to you

And ever expectant joys and pleasures in your company

Remains just a shell here beneath the far, distant mists

Flying like the dandelion clocks, blown by laughing children

Over meadows, muddy paths, copse and hill

My love wings its joyful journey onwards

And I can see you, always with me here

Sometimes, I wake at night. In the cold pre-dawn

Feeling you beside me, and take comfort in your warmth

And I feel you with me, as you walk the cold concrete city

Or across the damp, dew diamond fields

My heart would break and crumble into a thousand

Shattered pieces if for one moment I let you be

Over where you really are, without me

Time is nothing, until you return

I really enjoyed reading this poem, I love your choice of words and metaphors, it really brings the poem together. Making it both sad and so beautiful at the same time.
