SUMMER IN SWEDENA Poem by elitheportWritten after a stay in a typical timber Swedish house, tucked away by the lakes in the forest.Summer
in Sweden
Damp, drizzle mist Through the patter- patter leaves Of half-hidden, swaying green trees Swaying in time To the late summer breeze This is my memory of love And you Soft, mossy tracks, Leading down to the lake Long wooden jetty Swaying, swaying Saying, saying, I love you This is my memory of love And you Soft spoken voices and sharp sudden laughter Splash of a fish, the ripple after The splish-splash of soft-bullet rain The warmth of your breath On my face again This is my memory of love and you The bolt-sudden thought to throw off our things And jump in the lake and swim and swim And laugh at the chill and warm summer breeze Damp, drizzle mist, through patter- patter leaves This is my memory of love And you Hands dug in pockets, as the gentle rain Kisses my face as an aunt again At a fleeting meeting, haunting, taunting Where did you go? I am left with my memory of love And you © © 2011 elitheport |
