are you having trouble locating the heart?

the pain i was in, when you broke me in two,
ripped me apart and shredded my heart.

i was down on the ground,
and couldnt make a sound.
but then you looked me in the eyes,
and i knew it was you i despised.

you left me there to die on the floor,
as i watched you walk out that door.
death couldnt come fast enough,
but then i knew it was saving the best for last.

he lifted me up,
he knew it would be hard,
to love somebody so broken and charred.

he put back the pieces,
that cut and scarred.
and said he would love me until the day i died.

one day i hope i can love him back,
with that bit of my heart that was never hacked.
