Letting go

Letting go

A Poem by Elise C

Sometimes it doesn't work out
But you still want that person to still be about
You don't know how to feel, you don't know how to be,
Like a wave of regret rolling over the sea
Letting go is too hard for me

I still see your face in the reflection of dark
You broke my heart and you left your mark
You painted me red, you painted me blue
But you unstuck yourself from me like a piece of old glue
Letting go was too easy for you

the most important part of this very strong and genuine poem is the first word."Sometimes". the last poem i read mentioned 7 million souls, There is so much out there on that sea you mention, don't let one wave pull you under. The waters will release the glue, you will stay you!

Aw thank you!
I just wrote a poem about breakups, too! They are definitely an inspiration for art. Great poem, I like the part about "reflection of dark".

Cheers,
Gabrielle

It is a sad reality when love is not requited as one thought it was, perhaps, this speaks the heart well :)
