Poem #32

Poem #32

A Poem by Elisa

Well Hello - How do you do?
Why do I seem to remember you?

You look like someone I once knew
Your sad smiles, is that a clue?

What am I seeking?
This feeling, which keeps leaking

From far within
Are you someone from my past - where I have been?

Your smile seems sad
and yet your eyes so glad

As if you have been waiting
and yet I am still hesitating

Not sure if we should embrace
so afraid that my actions could chase

that tentative smile away
can we talk a bit, I'd like to get to know you if I may

For your eyes are wise
this I can surmise

And while you seem to be here
and believe me - I feel only good cheer

I cannot shake the thought
that some how I have missed alot

Your face the reverse of mine
Are we looking for what we both hope to find

Did you travel here to find me
Are you perhaps the key

For I am lost, I keep seeking hopefully yet
so you can see why I am happy we have met

On this sunny day - radiant bright light
In your company, I delight

Much you can teach me I decide
will you remain with me, close by my side

I feel at peace - today - in the time
tell m  do you also feel sublime

Have you found that which you thought was lost
Is reclaiming it worth the cost

For my soul says to me
So this, this moment is as it should be

Before you were not ready
Your heart and mind far from steady

But now - this moment - today
If you choose wisely, then your hopes may

May come true
For you have found the you

Years ago - which hid
as you had bid

To give you time to grow
and now you know

You must embrace
that which is burned deep below the surface

In order to journey on ahead
to go where you have been lead

To walk proud arm and arm
your faith, your strength keeping safe from harm

So come close, let's sit here a piece
For now the noise has to cease

Thank you for waiting for me to be ready
Ready to go forward - my load no longer so heavy

For while being apart has been hard
our ones far from marred

For today we are once again as one
Perhaps the inner struggle has been won.
