Rain

Rain

A Poem by Eli Jarman

Rain, don't stop please
I need the cool water on my face

Rain, why are you slowing
Rhythmic taps on my closed eyes

Rain, dripping from my hair
Touching my lips like soft kisses

Rain, drown me tonight
Take away all my pain in this world

Rain, don't leave me now
I'm not ready to stand up

Rain, keep on pouring
I'm soaked and on my knees

Rain, help me
Disguise my tears as dripping rain

Rain, wash the pain away
Like the dirt on her grave

Rain, don't leave me to
I need a friend before I join my lover
