Gracie

Gracie

A Poem by elijahssong
"

About my two year old baby girl...

"

Angelic curls fall stubbornly over cherubic cheeks....

Innocent eyes peering through a curtain of gold,

hiding the tempest that is within.

But. Look!

They are a window. Blue.

displaying a titanic soul...

an old soul...

far too large for the child size package

it has been given.

A tempest in a teacup....

brimming over and pouring out...

Unrestrained. Wild.  Free.

She dances with untamed abandon.

Child of the King!

She is the creature He has created...

even if only for a while...

before the world... with  it's sorrows,

hidden as bright trinkets of gold..

tries to tempt her with it's lies...

But for now...

With angels in her wake, she sings...

uncaring if the notes of her song are right..

only wanting to praise the One who delights in her..

Hide in her Father's embrace...

Maybe she will be the one...

Who will continue to dance...

This is lovely. My favorite line is definitely "tempest in a teacup". Great image and creativity.
What a nice piece for your daughter to read as she grows up. Thanks for sharing!
