The Eagles Hotel California

The Eagles Hotel California

In great blind needy trending, thoughts cool to my mind;

warm tales of deception, from people being kind

as they grew from my birthstart, I saw their lie-spinning light

my head grew heavy and my sight grew dim

I had to stop for the night

excitement stood in the doorway, I heard her mission bell

and I was thinking to myself she could be heaven or she could be hell

so with much dissipation, she showed me her way

there were voices down life's corridors I thought I heard them say

welcome to the spirits of excitement

such a mindless place

such a mindless place

such a special case

there's plenty of room in the spirits of excitement

in work love or rest

in work love or rest

you will find contest.

Her mind so brilliantly twisted, controls proud working men

drives a lot of sexy boys and girls she calls friends

so they dance in her courtyard of pain and regret

some dance to remember some dance to forget

so I called the Captain, please turn me to wine

he said we havent had that faith lost here since number seven fine

and still those voices mock us from far away

wake you up in the middle of your troubles just to hear them say

welcome to the spirits of excitement

such a mindless place

such a mindless place

such a special case

their living it up in the spirits of excitement

such well hidden lies

such well hidden lies

make great alibis.

(such well hidden threats

such well hidden threats

make you hedge your bets)

Reflecting on her way, dilutes truth with ice

with her say: we are all just prisoners here of our own device.

and in her master's mind-court, some seek a deadly tool

stab ego with new ideas but the master is no fool

Last thing I remember i was running for the door

I had to find my passage back to the sanity I knew before

Relax said the pain pusher were programmed to deceive

you can check out any time you like but can you ever

leave?

Original:

on a dark desert highway cool wind in my hair

warm smell of colitas rising up in the air

up ahead in the distance

I saw a shimmering light

my head grew heavy and my sight grew dim

I had to stop for the night

there she stood in the doorway

I heard the mission bell

and I was thinking to myself

this could be heaven or this could be hell

so she lit up a candle and she showed me the way

there were voices down the corridors

I thought I heard them say

welcome to the hotel california

such a lovely place such a lovely place

such a pretty face

theres plenty of room at the hotel california

any time of year any time of year

you can find it here

her mind is tiffany twisted, she drives a mercedes benz

has a lot of pretty pretty boys she calls friends

and they dance in her courtyard, sweet summer sweat

some dance to remember some dance to forget

so I called the captain please bring me my wine

he said we havent had that spirit here since 1969

and still those voices are calling from far away,

wake you up in the middle of the night

just to hear them say

welcome to the hotel california

such a lovely place such a lovely place

such a pretty face

their living it up in th hotel california

what a nice surprise what a nice surprise

bring your alibis

mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice

and she said:

we are all just prisoners here of our own device

and in her master's chambers

they gather for the feast

stab it with their steely knives

but they just cant kill the beast

last thing I remember I was running for the door

I had to find my passage back to the place I was before

relax said the nightman were programmed to receive

you can check out any time you like

but you can never leave.
