Backwards Rain

Backwards Rain

A Poem by Faith Williamson

A thousand words on my mind,
but silence on my lips.
I try to speak, but nonetheless
my mouth remains stitched.

Melodies etch my brain
and twinkle from my heart,
surging up, like backwards rain
you held it from the start

With every word, it fills my chest
and tingles down my spine
But you, the one who knows them best,
will never know these lines.
