Warm Wind Tired Friend

Warm Wind Tired Friend

A Poem by NotaBene
"

Inspiration from "Black Hole sun."

"
I don't want to be Your friend, I don't want to be second choice.
I'll leave it to the other girls to play, I don't wanna play with boys.
I don't want to wait for you, don't you think it's been long enough?
This is a story just for two, a love ballet played just for us.
Is it worth the sacrifice? Or am I just wasting time.
Will you ever change your ways? Will you just be mine?
Is it fair to let my heart break watching you with them.
Or is it the lesser of two evils, as I desire no other men.
What a price to pay, I wish you would know.
I die a little inside each time, I am forced to let you go.
I try to be your rock and the pebble to your stone.
but I feel a twinge of sadness in the discretion I have to show.
How long do you expect me to wait? To realize what I do.
The merciless pain I feel, the pain of loving you.
I try to accept the way you are, but I just cant see the justice.
To be in love with a man so strong, in a relationship so loveless.
Every time you turn away my world becomes so shattered.
I'm not forcing you to stay, am just wishing that I mattered.
If your really indifferent you need to let me know.
It will crush my heart to pieces, but I'll know its time to go.
If it isn't true, then why must your hide you care?
It isn't right baby. you know it isn't fair!
Why can't you just show me, that you really care for me?
MY heavy heart would be lifted, I could finally breathe.
Until then I'm still waiting, for those three words from you.
Whether it be the ones I want to hear or the words " I hate you."
I'm waiting for you to decide, There is plenty of other men.
I love you fatally baby, but I can't be your Warm Wind Tired Friend.
