Chapter 2

I walk up to the door and knock. It is the day after the raid and also the first day of my second year in high school. I came to go to school with Takuto. He is coming with me to school since his house is on the way to our school. And also... I think to myself as the door opens. He is in his wheel chair making his way out the door. "You ready to go?" I ask him as he grabs his bag. "Yeah lets go," I hear him say with nervousness in his voice. It was probably since he had to be hospitalized due to an accident last year. It was after we finished our last year of middle school. He wasn't able to walk so his mother decided to home school him for the first year of high school. So today was his real first day of high school. He would ask me to tell him how it was like to be in high school and if there were any cute girls there. He was also nervous that he would get bullied because he was in a wheelchair. I told him that they wouldn't because he was with me. Before the accident he was very popular in our middle school. But that was also back when he remembered his past. I thought lastly as we arrived at the our school. It was called the Jura High School named after the founder of our town. The school is a local school but considered a smart school so many from out of town transfer in. "You ready?" I turn to Takuto as he stops next to me. "Lets do this," he says beginning to roll past the school gate. <> I sit in class waiting for it to start. I had to leave Takuto with at the teachers office to fill some last papers for his transfer. He was going to come with the teacher once class started and be introduced. A few minutes pass, and more people walk in along with talk about a transfer student. "Alright everyone. Please calm down its time for class to begin," I hear looking to the front of the room where the teacher walked in, "and as many of you already know... we have two transfer students!" "Two? seriously?" I here from a guy beside me. "Are there any girls?" Asks another and the teacher responds with an evil glare. "Come on in," she says towards the door as it slides open.and to people come in. One, of course, is Takuto and the other was a girl with long black hair, an athletic figure and it looked like she was really intelligent girl who would become popular very quickly. "She can sit next to me!" I heard from a guy a few seats down. "No, she must sit next to a lady," says a girl in response to that guy. "The male transfer student is kind of cute," I heard a whisper from a few girls close by. "Everyone quiet down," said the teacher looking up at the ceiling while continuing to say, "I give you guys way too much freedom. Well anyway, please introduce yourselves to your classmates." "Hello. My name is Umeki Suko. Nice to meet all of you," she says as she bows. "Hello everyone I'm Takuto Yamauchi. And even though I'm in a wheelchair please just treat me like a normal person," he says giving a big smile that makes some girls begin whispering again. "Alright, hmm," the teacher steps in after both are done talking. She looks around for where to let them sit. Then, pointing to the seat next to me, she says,"Umeki sit there next to Shuya and Takuto sit over there next to Seitaro," when she tells Takuto where to sit she points across the room. We both look at each other and give exchange a look of disappointment. "Why is she sitting next to Shuya?" "Because I trust him more than you. Now lets begin class," she replies adding, "Oh and I need someone to show the two of them around the school." "I'll show Umeki around," I hear from many guys at almost the exact same time. "I can show Takuto around," said one girl. "No I'll show Takuto around," said another girl as others started to join in saying they each wanted to show someone around. I just looked out the window since my seat was next to the window. I did not want to get involved with it even though I wanted to show Takuto around someone else wants to volunteer. "Shuya how about you show both of them around the school you know your way around and you're very calm so it would be good," the teacher says making everyone be quiet. "Ok," I say letting out a sigh. I don't like doing things like this but since Takuto is involved I guess I will. After I say that I hear disappointed voices and jealous comments. Class begins and I have to show them around after school. Then I have to go to work. We'll at least there's only two more days until the new game Cross Swords comes out. As I think about this and look at how peaceful it is outside, I begin to drift off to sleep.
