PrologueA Chapter by elf
This place is always like this. It's so
boring. Although the game has finally been released and the servers have started, no one has gotten the one quest to start my job. I don't even know why I signed up for this. The man looked around an office-looking type of room, however this had huge computer monitors lined up on the wall cords were laid out across the floor going from one side of the room to the other. There were about thirty workers there. There is a group of ten working on server maintenance and a group of six coming up with the first event, with eight monitoring the actual game. The rest, with me being the leader, are just waiting for a certain player to appear. Speaking of which- "Hey," he says to one of the workers who turns towards him, "there were 5000 copies of the game sold, right?" "Yes, why do you ask sir?" "There are only 4998 players online. So where are the other two?" "It looks like they haven't logged on, sir." "And about the quest, Is there a chance that no one will get it?" "Yes the system does give out a randomized quest." "Well I still get paid for being here until then so I'm happy." I turn to look at the rest of the workers. Some were just sitting in chairs being lazy some while others were playing cards. Few were actually doing any work at all.BZZZZZZZ! I turn to look at the person in charge of the quest and player log who jumps out of his chair after being woken up by the sound. That's the sound I was waiting for, a day late but he's here in the game. © 2015 elf |
