Tiny feet

Tiny feet

A Poem by eleniel

A flutter of anticipation,
a hush,
a giggle.
Paper wings and paper bows,
satin ribbons and satin throws.

Slowly, slowly, up, up it goes!
Velvet curtain, glossy, sweet,
up it goes,
up, up and,
spotlight does meet.

A nervous giggle,
another hush.
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter,
on and on.
Tiny feet,
tiny shoes,
ruffled skirts and nervous girls.
Spotlight meets the tiny feet.

Dance, dance,
story of romance.
Of tragedy, of death,
of swans and princes,
and trance.

Watch; in awe.
Pitter-patter, pitter-patter,
the story unfolds much more.
The curtain falls.
Tiny feet,
tiny shoes.
A giggle,
a hush.

Somehow, reading this makes me feel like a child again; so innocent and so carefree :) the fourth stanza is my favourite. I can know how the dancers dance to tell a story. This is just lovely.. and now I feel like dancing. haha :)

its kinda funny and ironic that ur poem sounds like a musical and play in itself...i liked the imagery u created and u created this fluttering feeling that matched that of a ballerina...good poem :)

I love the rhythm you've placed into this. Quick and simple. But the image you've been trying to make me see came across quite well and yes, it's beautiful!
