the constant knitter

the constant knitter

A Poem by ely b

The constant knitter

I sit here knitting and my thoughts fly free

I am thinking of you are you thinking of me?

Should I call again about the sink?

Will that stain come out, purple ink!

Have we food enough if the group drops by?

That girl in the corner is quiet and shy.

Make a stitch purl wise, that’s a trick

Maybe this yarn is just too thick.

Some sun, sea and sand for winter will do.

Are you thinking of me? I am thinking of you.

The boy’s birthday is next week; Lego to buy.

I could make apple crumble, maybe a pie.

This pattern is easy it moves right along.

What’s the name of that singer or even the song?

The clack of the needles might put me to sleep

But “miles to go” and “promises to keep”.

When you go out I hope you remember your key.

I am thinking of you, are you thinking of me?
