Shadows Cast

Remembering child hood

Shadows Cast
Today I visited a magical place
Played hide and seek ran in a race
Rolled through grass climbed up a tree
I barley noticed my scraped up knees
I sat in dirt played with my jacks
Jumped in a race with potato sacks
Searched for bugs than jumped in hay
Told secret stories of past summer days
Imagination was our greatest toy
Transporting every girl and boy
Of to places magic, oh so grand
To fight as pirates in another land
The day as always drew to an end
I waved goodbye to child hood friends
This day but a memory held by shadows cast
A place revisited of a time now past

it still is for me
A wonderful reminiscence. Makes me smile thinking of that never ending supply of energy we had to burn.
