LITTLE DONKEY

LITTLE DONKEY

A Poem by kitty
"

Free verse put together, bearing in mind the time of year and the significance of a donkey, in his innocence.

"
                  LITTLE DONKEY
" Oh mamma, please wait for me!"
In the early hours of morning light,
through dew filled leaves see waving palm trees.
I pause a bit, explore a bit, prod and poke a bit:
over there upon the sun's horizon, see see
blue waters crashing, foamingly 'gainst hidden rocks.
Rising up around me are majestic mountains that touch the sky.
on hallowed ground they be - peace and tranquility -
far from the stresses that beset humanity.
Dainty little petals show off their hue - to enhance the view,
   of islanders and visitors too.
A cherished memory, I share with you.
Swaying grass, tickled by soft summer breeze
dance to nature's rithymn and tease.
delicate and so at ease!
" Mamma, let me know how far does the ocean go?
Where does that zigzag path on yonder mountain end?
Are there other animals there to befriend?"
MA: " Little donkey don't you know that God in His wisdom
           is the proviso?"

As I sat on the porch, in full view of the Caribbean Sea and mountains to the side of me. the silent observer, a Mommy and baby donkey appeared through overgrown bushes, an awesome sight.
