INDELIBLE MEMORIES

INDELIBLE MEMORIES

A Poem by kitty
"

Prompted by a new project I am working on - I write. " I did it my way..."

"
                       INDELIBLE MEMORIES
Imprints on the mind.~
they pass through our waking hours ~
like meditation during our hours of prayer.
Alone in thought, deprived of sleep ...
sad are those feelings that we yearn to keep.
a ticking clock against the wall seem to say,
"Show me the way through worry and pain ...
               let happiness be mine again"
For as time goes on we make comparisons
with those who hold on to and cherish their
        own indelible memories.

interesting piece. We hold on to memories of those we loved, different relationships etc. but what we really need are memories of those things we did for ourselves...they are very important to our own self-worth. To not need another to feel okay.
I really like this poem very much, Kitty.

Although some bad memories pop up (which I think is inevitable) I try to hold onto the good ones when all my friends were still here. Many have either moved away or died. Sometimes memories are all that we have left.

my pleasure.. and you too....
I enjoyed the sentiment in this very much... this is just me, but what i feel from this may not be what you intended. Your remark on comparisons is what strikes me, the sense of respect for others feelings as authentic as your own perspectives this is a funny thing about artistry and i have witnessed it many times, so often we the miners of create tend to hold onto our perspectives and discount the others in observations. Your poem is not necessarily written about that as much as it is about memories personal but it dances on my mind about that as well So in the bunnies usual overthinking sort of way I'm saying this is a very reflective write and has engaged him :) Glad you decided to join in the conversation here at the Cafe!

I did like this one kitty and you are welcome.
I hope the memories aren't all sad ones kitty. Some of mine are very sad, but when they filter back I make a conscious effort to dig for a happy memory too, to bring in some balance. All good wishes to you. Your lines touched me.

Sad that we cant recall and hold them closely to our hearts. Thank you so much for reviewing.
The memory must be the greatest gift ever, good or bad.
Though for some reason we only partake at funerals.
Think I remember being five.
