"PLAY IT AGAIN SAM!"

"PLAY IT AGAIN SAM!"

A Poem by kitty
"

Like dominoes one writer's posting can trigger off another writers ability to compose. We inspire each other ~ hopefully!

"

"PLAY IT AGAIN, SAM!" ~ Yesterday, once more.

Play it again Sam. Play that tune again!.

In a smoke fille room, midst half filled chair(s)
nostalgia can surely be found there.

Two lovers once sat ~ holding hands,
by the flicker of candle light ***.

Across the table she looked into eyes of deepest blue
He held her soft and delecate hands >>>
with fingers slender finished off in crimson hue.

But for Sam on saxophone ~ they were alone.
Moments like these you could easily clone.

Slow sips of Bourbon or finest wine
After au dervs ~ never intended to dine!

Ambiance sets the mood for romance>>>
"Just hold me closer as we dance!"

"Play it again Sam, caress your Saxaphone ...
for the lady wears red ~ she'll sleep alone ~
on a tear filled pillow ~ no one to call her own!"

Note:
Happy endings are always fine
but these scensrios are the realities of time.

for as I compose in woeful prose
these exist ~~~~heaven knows!

I appreciate the Casablanca reference.

Romance always seems to reign under the cloak of candlelight and musical tune. Good to see you were inspired by another's work. Just be careful. Some get quite touchy about being the 'inspirer' and inspiration soon becomes plagiarism in their eyes.

A nice write.

I close my eyes and I can see it all. Feeling the memories once lost return. I love your poem!

Thank you kind poet. Your review is most welcome. Takes a word or two to 'trigger' off memories.

So glad that I found time to visit your sight Kitty, unfortunately I only ever played, or used a mouth organ and Er-indoors was never a music lover, holding hands was good enough so I have quite a few unused instruments in my drawers. That doesn't sound quite right!!! Another great piece, take care Rod.

You never cease to amuse/amaze me! Hehe,He!
Such a master piece of art. Love is all beautiful if free flows from your heart into your words. You were fantastic with all your lines and all through the prose.

i just love Casablanca...and your references work so well in setting the mood here...i like Sam on the Sax rather than the piano...

"if she can take it, so can it"

so many loves start out romantically...and with "ever after" intentions...but end sadly, with the need to part...been involved in that before...the circumstances overriding the feelings.

Oh! It ended sadlly! Your words were setting the romantic mood for us with great feelings, it's sad to see a lonely lady at the end... I've known You for years dear Kitty, and I know how Your inspiration works sometimes, just like here, and yes, we do inspire each others, with a word, with a thought, a poem or a review, with a feeling... etc, lovely sweet romantic piece.

P.S, WN is working again, but I thought why telling everyone, will it even work tomorrow!
