      THE BEST

Not the 'best' in a beauty contest

not the fastest in the human race.

 

In today's society, humility should

      take first place.

Be of good morals, be of good taste.

Don't have to cross the barren desert

or sail the oceans and the seven seas.

The master of several languages to 

be that decent, caring human being:

just be aware of who you are and who

         you can be in your society.

Show care to fellow humans who have

earned the right to occupy a space,

be they in or out of your grace.

Be careful who you step on, getting to the top

there's distance to the ground - if you falter,

                    should you drop.

Eagles fly safely to mountain top 

and are appreciative of the green pastures 

       down below.

Be the best you can in this human race

some will make it to the finish line

but others will run out of grace - deprived of time!

As I told You before Kitty dear, I count on You to write about any subject trying to make this place better, as Your title said.

Your word of humility captured my mind, because I've been thinking lately of those people full with "ego" seeing themselves the best persons ever, well! You and me can for sure act like this, but because we are aware of the different between ego and pride, self esteem, we don't.

Respect and kindness must always be in our humanistic relationships.
