The Cruel Side of Love

The short, tragic story of a boy and a girl.

She was a beautiful girl. Her cloudy, gray eyes twinkled with a shimmer of sunlight. Her wind-tossed, golden hair gleamed with beauty. He was just a regular guy, with messy, black hair and hazel eyes. He had framed glasses.

She was new to the academy, He was there for years. She didn't know him at first, but later one day, they sat for a few hours, talking. They got to know each other better, and they grew close.

She grew on him, and he fell in love with her. She learned of this, and rather than the news he expected, she felt uneasy. She couldn't even bear to look at him, because every time, the memory came back to her.

His heart was broken, for the reason that he had never felt such a warm feeling around anyone. He couldn't stand it.

Over the summer, they grew closer again, and they talked and talked. Next year, they talked again and again. She started gaining fame across the academy, while he was stuck as the same, unpopular guy.

A few weeks after school started, she started dating another. His heart was broken. Over the summer, he thought he was over her. But when he saw her with another, he realized that all along, he still had feelings for her.

He didn't even know what he felt. His mind was confused. He endured it until the end of the year. She had started ignoring him. The fame and reputation had gotten to her head. On New Year's Eve he had talked to her after months. He asked her one simple question--Why are you ignoring me?

She never answered him. His heart was broken. For weeks, his heart ached. He would never have the feeling inside his heart. The warm feeling--love. He loved her all along, but she never loved him. They grew further and further apart. He would never get over his broken heart.
