The Evil and the Righteous

The Evil and the Righteous

A Poem by ekrav

The evil man and the righteous man both look at each other

Studying what it means to be

What he means

To be.

From an outsider

Their crisp, blue eyes are filled with the same

Darkness and light

Intertwined so perfectly

That they become one shade

They both wonder how it feels to hold so many oceans.

How did I end up here?

With the man who’s purpose is to kill my own

I never thought I would die

Not yet.

Not yet.

Hours, or days, or weeks, have passed

Did you know

When you look at something long enough

It loses its meaning?

A physical manifestation of what happens

When words succumb to

Semantic Saturation.

Whatever words were said

Between the eyes holding oceans

No one knows

But from an outsider

You couldn’t tell the two apart

Now that you mention it,

You never could.
