Light Your Flame

Sometimes our heartache seems to exist without resolve.

We decide to yield our free will to destructive thoughts.

The pernicious voices in our heads get louder than reason.

In the depths of this horror, we submit to our nightmares.

Too often, we accept venomous lies as truth and abuse as love.

Our addictions grow more potent as our hope becomes deferred.

We become devoured by the darkness and inundated by futility.

Victims of stolen desire, we are void of hope, faith, and mercy.

We become a cog, a speck of dust blowing in the maelstrom of life.

Realize! Your perceived damnation is a lie! Life is not over!

In that eclipsing darkness is a flickering flame.

It is the flame of our faith; our belief lights it.

When you give it a zephyr of hope, it will grow stronger.

We are warmed by the truth of God's bright flame.

You will see in its light all the lies that hide in the darkness.

It will burn away at the false desires and allow true love to resurface.

All the demons will be exposed and run from your light.

Dreams of redemption will come, and you will find purpose.

Rejuvenating the flame of your life is a decisive action.

The flame you relight today can help others light theirs tomorrow.
