Blood Ties

Blood Ties

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

Hello
I know you see me.
I am the b*****d you ignore every day.
I am the progeny of your Granddaddies.
My ancestors were used and thrown away.
Our mutual Grandfathers raped our mothers.
They ruthlessly killed their stolen sons.
The family lived by a heretic's faith:
Only White People can be the chosen ones!

As I said, We are family.
I am an accomplice to the trouble you bring.
I have watched you murder friends and innocents.
You held me down so I couldn't say a thing.
I watched you steal the property of millions.
I served the tables where you laughed at your deeds.
You didn't fret or care that I saw you.
You had already beaten us b******s to our knees.

You have conditioned your b*****d brothers.
Some of us have become contributors to your ills.
Ancestral pain has stripped them of rebellion and reason.
They gleefully Coon and forget their wills.
Rebels are seen as thugs, or animals that are loose.
You no longer believe you can tame us.
You use the law and police as your whip a noose.

We may die under your parentage.
It seems you continue to steal all of our best.
You do it without reason or empathy
You watch your nephews die and ignore their protest.

However...

I am persuaded to love you White America.
You are the family that I cannot deny.
We share the same fathers and mothers.
You deny it, but the blood doesn't lie.
I am your forefather's ill-gotten b*****d.
I was denied the blood ties forced into me.
White America we are your children and family.
Related by blood from now until eternity.
