To God I Am Forever Grateful

I am not a man of pointless platitudes.
I don't give desultory thanks.
I don't bestow aimless gratitude.
You have to earn my thanks.
Today I find myself happy.
I am moved by the grace I receive.
I know that over this year.
God has been good to me.
He kept my wife and children.
He held the angel of death at bay.
He moved in all my finances.
When I was lost, he showed me the way.
This year everything got sad and hectic.
I lost a few loved ones and friends.
In that, he revealed to me a mystery;
He showed me there is glory of life's end.
Numerous times I bowed to him.
I went to him with all my hurts and cares.
He filled every hurtful pitfall; before I knew it was there.
I am thankful, and that is a hard thing to attain.
I know to God I will always be grateful.
I provides me continual victory in his name.
