NOCTURNAL AWAKENING

NOCTURNAL AWAKENING

A Poem by Eddie Phillips
"

It is a fact of life...cannot be avoided

"

I left the naiveté of my adolescence in a darkly lit room
My nocturnally lost child got caught inside her soporific loom
Ensnared by unconscious desire there was no way to break free
My innocence was laid bare as she brought out the man in me
Shrouded in her arms, she sucked away all my free will
I gave in to the anima of my passion as she went in for the kill
At the apex of our lechery I gave one final depleting scream
Then I rose wet and shocked, awakened from my pubescent dream
