LISTLESS OBLIVION

Loving someone does not mean they will love you back. Some people wait forever for someone that will not see them that way. Its sad...

 

 

I ventured into this listless oblivion; already knowing what was there
My heart was full of emotion; while my mind ignored the despair
Promises were made by the both of us; as our bodies intertwined
But after those vows became history; scattered dust in the winds of time

I have accepted that I will always love you; it's a truth I cannot escape
You are attached to the essence of my being; an unfortunate predestined fate
Yet, I know that you don't love me; no matter what I say or try to do
It doesn't matter that you took all I have; I still remain just a pariah to you

I live in your love's unrequited darkness; I exist on your love's mendacious mist
A broken heart detached from loves splendor; eternally longing for your kiss
Yet, I cannot wish you misfortune; holding grudges will not change the facts
No, I will live in your listless oblivion; praying you will one day love me back

Reminds me of the classic "Great White Buffalo" ,aka, the one who got away. Everyone sane on the planet has one, and in reality though they cause great immediate pain, its the aftershock that can last years that can kill a man. I write on the same subject in the same dark, cryptic way, but of course these works are snowflakes and are all unequivocal to the next. Very good piece

Loving someone never means that person will love you back. Sadly the person who is lost in love will ignore those who really want to be with them just so they can have what they want. They sacrifice and take abuse just to keep that person around until one day that person just leaves. It happens more then many are aware. Thanks for sharing and reading this poem.

it doesn't metter other one feeling just as you, if you want someone to love you back, i dont think you are in love...
but we all expect from god to love us back as much as we do him...
why?
questions never ends...

Sometimes people take pain as a form of love. They accept any emotion because they want to be with that person so badly. It is a warped way of looking at love and many people stay trapped in this delusion for years. It is truthful and like living in oblivion. Thanks for reading and commenting.
