THE KITE IN THE STORM

THE KITE IN THE STORM

A Poem by Eddie Phillips
"

If it is true love hold on to it and never let it go! They are worth your support and love!

"

The Devil is in the wind
He's been pulling at your heart
Whispering the sweet little nothings
That have blown our love apart

You flip and you spin
Immersed in your wicked sin
Your body tossing and turning
In the lusts of his devilish wind

He's been pulling you away from me
The tug grows stronger everyday

Its leading you into the storms

That will tear your heart away

Your kite painfully pulls away from me
But I hold firm to your illusive string
I refuse to ever let you go
No matter what the storm clouds may bring

Strikes of lightening will not destroy you
We will hold fast until the break of day

We are eternally tethered soul mates
You may be aloft but never astray

So even when the storm winds pull at you
I will never let you fly off alone
Your love is divinely attached to me
Its the string that will always lead you home

Another great poem Eddie! I love your use of the kite metaphor. You have a knack for picking all the right metaphors! A emotional and powerful piece. I did find one tiny spelling error.
"And eat you pride away" I think you should be your. (I kind of have OCD when it comes to spelling)
I absolutely loved this piece! I'm waiting for more!
