THE LOVE THAT BELONGS

THE LOVE THAT BELONGS

A Poem by Eddie Phillips
"

Sometimes you have to know your worth!

"

You swore that when you left me I would be alone
Wallowing in my tears over the love that was gone
You will never see me weeping; I am confidant and strong
I can't cry over a tyrant that chose to do me wrong
There is nothing you can do to drive me into Hell
I live my life with the faith that I will always prevail
I have resolved to be happier then we could ever be
Living for love that is sanctified, treasured, and free
My flesh may sometimes fail and my heart may even break
I will hold onto my inner worth and never take it for sake
You tried your best to hurt me by leaving me here alone
All you did was open the door for the love that belongs

Sometimes you have to know your worth when someone you love hurts you. No one should ever be able to put you through Hell.
