GOD IS ON HIS THRONE

GOD IS ON HIS THRONE

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

Often we look at tragedy and blame God for all that's wrong
We lose sight of his pure majesty and recuse him of his throne
We ignore the signs of his grace always evident in our lives
We focus on disgrace and the horrors that seek to thrive
Yet God is on his throne he is there despite our doubts
He never leaves us alone and always provides a way out
For Heaven is his reward that we can all freely receive
Promised to us in his word if we only chose to believe
Innocent flesh may be swallowed as Satan rips out the blessed heart
But that flesh was merely borrowed by the soul that will depart
The soul ascends to Heaven to enjoy eternal peace
Never again heavy laden it will forever know release
So when pain dampens your heart and cold winds of doubt begin to blow
Know that God is not too far and he sees your every woe
God is on his throne he is the king of our eternal heart
He is the answer to the mystery; given to us at life's first start
He only allows things upon us that he knows that we can bear
But he beseeches that we give him all our doubts, fears, and cares
He is on his throne and never leaves us alone
For he gave us a comforter and his son to keep us strong.
