YOUR WOMAN LEFT YOU (BLUES)

YOUR WOMAN LEFT YOU (BLUES)

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

Your women left you
She was tired of being used
You broke her heart with the messed up things you'd do

You threw the dice on fate
Crapped out every time
So now you crying but it was you that did the crime

Someone found her
He took your prize
He made her happy and now you want to lose your mind

You owned a sweet sweet love
Still you gave it all away
Now you're haunted by the price you chose to pay

You say you're sorry
She says she's moved on
You beg for mercy and ask her to come home

She smiles and says
"You’re a game she just can't play
She found a lover that won't throw her love away

Brother take a lesson
From this mistake
Find another and don't take her heart for sake

Don't roll the dice on fate
That folly is your own
You’ll end up lonely, sad, and alone

Just be still in life
Let conscious be your guide
Fate will bring new love to your heart in time

So dry your eyes
Ease your troubled mind
Shelve your dice and let love be your guide
