A FATHERLY EXAMPLE

Being a father is an honor whether you have girls or boys. You need to give reverence to that honor.

A Son at his wedding said:
Dad I'm going to be just like you. 
A hard working man; honest, faithful, and true. 

I will feed and cloth my children. 
I will adore and care for my loving wife. 
We will live in a good neighborhood. 
I will give them all a decent life.

Dad, I will never doubt or waver in the belief that this can be.
I know that it is possible because it’s what you gave to me.

 

The Father looked proudly at his son. 
He fought back a well of tears.
He smiled through his wrinkles,
gained from the wisdom of many years.

 

He said:  Son you changed my life. 
I had to work hard to provide all those things.
I wanted you to know what being a good man means. 

It took many hard worked hours to ensure you’d be okay.
Up at the crack of dawn and working to the close of day.
Yet, every single night I got to hold my family tight.
It provided me the faith that every challenge was worth the fight.

 

So, now to hear you proclaim that you aspire to be like me...
Justifies every test and trial that God allowed me to see.
A father must be an example to his son everyday.
It provides him with the knowledge to show his son the way.

Author's Note

Be a good father and a example for your children. We learn so much from our parents. I am a father of four. I have all boys but it doesn't matter; being a father is an honor whether you have girls or boys. You need to give reverence to that honor by being the best parent you can be.
