THE BLESSED STORM

THE BLESSED STORM

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

To every man's life there will come some hellish rain

It will bring unwelcomed heartbreak and unwanted pain

The sun won't seem to shine and the clouds won’t seem to break

He will feel all alone and his soul will start to ache

But at the moment of total anguish, when he feels all hope is gone

God will show him his majesty and reveal he’s not alone

A sliver of sacrosanct light will cut through the baleful dark

Thunder claps will cease and the flames of lightning cease to spark

Devine peace will descend and the maleficent winds will all die

and he will know at that moment that God is standing by
For out of the darkness of the storm will come the blessed day

The promise of the Lord will then illuminate his way

For rain is just a substance to wash away sins old stains

To wash away man's sorrow, empty heartache, and wrenching pain

The Lord allows these storms

They come to inundate our life

They flush wash away the darkness; so he can sanctify us in the light.
