THE ANNOYANCE OF LOVE

THE ANNOYANCE OF LOVE

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

Love long enough and you will see what I write is true
You can love your partner and be annoyed by what they do
Those little quirks from Heaven that happen everyday
The times you get annoyed by every single word they say

Their pointless little complaints that you can't seem to take
Miraculously erased when your passion starts to break

Those silly little times when they criticize how you drive
Yet, you’d fight your way through Hell just to keep your love alive!

Those annoying little quirks are spices added by God
In this barren lawn of life they are Heaven's given sod
So weather the small annoyance of a half drank cup of milk
It will be nixed by the passion for the life you both have built
Yes they are annoying, and I am sure you will fight
It will never remove the joy of being in their arms at night

So live with your annoying butt-head!
Willfully take that jagged pill!
Swallow it!  Take it!
Their annoyance won't mask the love that they fulfill
