PEN OF THE DEVINE

What is this thing that inspires us to write? It is something you cannot pull away from! It is a constant hunger that must be fed.

 

 

It is an endless quaking
It shakes the soul you see
It will never let you rest
and it will never let you be
It will wake you in the morning
and meet you with the sun’s rays
It will tap at your heart
every minute of the day

 

It will call you in the night
as it burns at your soul
your dreams are its kindling
Inspiration makes the fire grow

 

It will always be with you
Until the very last breath you take
It will be an insatiable hunger
An unrelenting ache

 

We know not what to call it
but it’s with me know as I write
It’s that spark of inspiration
that lies inside away from sight

 

Deem it your imagination
call it gift or curse
but without its guiding presence
you could never write a verse

 

As writers we can't escape it
It is something beyond the mind
so I have learned to accept it
as the "Pen Of the Devine"
A guiding piece of Heaven
sent through the writers pen
With one singular purpose
To inspire the hearts of men.

Now that explains a lot and yet leaves so much wonder about some writers I have read.

So often the story will be within our hearts, heads, dreams, and thoughts until we put it down with the tip of the pen...I like "Pen Of the Devine" thought process as it gives a solid entity to the constant of my thoughts.
