INDOCTRINATED

INDOCTRINATED

A Poem by Eddie Phillips
"

What has you Indoctrinated? Sex, Drugs, Hate?

"

Before I was indoctrinated I saw the truth as clear as day
Then you broke my spirit and now I accept your ways
Your little seeds of doubt grew into the dogma of my mind
Principles were shattered in too many pieces to ever find

You emptied my desires and filled them with your lust
I became your willing slave, your victim, a mindless husk
I lost the things I believed in; bewildered by what you are
Lost in your perpetual darkness; I no longer saw the stars
Yes, I am indoctrinated in lust and hate as well
I gave you just a little and you pulled the rest into Hell!

To change a man's belief is a strong and powerful thing
Once a man loses belief he has no reason to ever dream
I have to find the strength to escape this painful lie
Before your indoctrination kills what little is left of me inside.
