Ludicrously Blessed

Ludicrously Blessed

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

Woke up this morning
I knew I was blessed
When I opened my eyes

and took my first breath

Endowed by the grace
that he decided to send
blessed by the open mystery
of a new day began.

He furthered his endowment
when I saw all my sons'
already up and active;
loud and having fun

God knew he was clowning
when he woke up my sun
my good thing, my angel
my wife, my sweet loving one.

Ludicrously blessed
before I ever stepped out the door
it was unreal, crazy, and absurd
but still there was more!

See he could have just stopped right there,

but see he is God
so he allowed his blessings
to meet me at  my job.

I walked into anger faces,

We all know the ones
some of you reading this poem

may even be some

Angry at the fact they were working in this place,
anger so visual it showed all over their face.

Never once thinking to give thanks to God

for their clothes, their house, and car
He provides  through this job.

I thanked for keeping me as I took my seat
I thanked him for the prosperity
he he chose to bequeath.

Finished my day thankful

and made my way back home
Everyone was asleep

and I sat downstairs alone

I took to my knees and thanked him for the blessed day
for his protection, and his mercy in guiding on my way

I admonished that I knew I was ludicrously blessed
and thanked him for blessing me inspite of all my mess

I went to bed knowing I was held tight inside his love
a blessed and happy man in the eyes of my father above.

Some revisions need to be made, other than that it is wonderful to read another's writing thanking God for this life, good or bad. Seems some people blame Him for their troubles than giving Him praise. Well done.
