CLAIM IT!

CLAIM IT!

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

I've been fighting this Ole Devil each and every day.
These streets are getting so bad, that we can't let the children go out and play.
There are crackheads on the corner. Shotgun blasts ring out at night.
This neighborhood is in a War Zone and Lord it's time to fight!

I'm going to loose my blessings. The Lord promised me that I could.
If I name it and proclaim it!  He said he would turn everything for my good!
I won't fret anymore. I don't care what the Devil wants to do.
I bind him in Jesus name and trust that the Lord will see us through.

I claimed my victory this morning and boldly thanked the Lord in advance.
I know change is coming because his word said trouble would not last.
When I woke up this morning, I saw God starting to do it all.
He proved he would answer when he heard my earnest call.

They raided that wicked crack house and put a patrol on the block.
They cleared out all the drug heads and sealed the doors with chains and locks.

Now I can sit here quietly, enjoying the peace of this blessed day.
I praise my father for his favor while I watch the neighborhood children play.
All I had to do was claim it! Victory was mine all the time.
I just called the Lord on his promises and he gave me peace of mind.
