POETRY AIN'T EASY

Poetry ain't easy

it takes effort to write a rhyme

to keep the subject flowing

to the metrical beat of time.

 

To find words that match

or compliment each line

is not an easy task

to accomplish every time.

 

I could write in Prose

it wouldn't be hard to do

but its not a flowing metrical

its dull, tiresome, and untrue

 

So when you read a poem

and critize the theme

maybe you should appreciate

the efforts of its rhythmic scheme

 

Rhyme is not so juvenile

it can be hard and takes a lot of time.

but if you don't believe it

you can sit down and try it this time!
