Coordinates Of Love

Coordinates Of Love

A Poem by Eddie Phillips

I was moving along Latitude, just going about my day
You were moving along Longitude, when we collided along the way.
Moving in these angular differences, our collision could have missed
I would never been able to hold you, or feel you melt with our first kiss
Passing these positions may have happened only once in time.
So I thank God for his favor in crossing your life with mine.

It's all so really funny, because we are night and day.
Still somehow I found you, my point in love to stay.
See you were raised with money, my family had none
I have a cool sister; you have an annoying brother named Ron
I love tea in the morning, you drink coffee; I call it crud!
You like a well cooked steak, I like mine with a little blood.

It is so odd your intersection into my singular life
It has brought us to this day, when I make you my wife
I stand here at this alter happily taking your hand
I take a moment to thank God for direction
and the coordination of his plan.
