BEAUTY DEFINED

I wanted to play with the idea of the dead metaphor "Beauty Undefined" It has been used so much and I wanted to put a different spin on it.

 

 

Beauty undefined
Works in poetry as a line
But to me it can never be true
Because to me all beauty relates to you

Your beauty is visual
It works into my mind
It sets my life on pause
I am lost outside of time

Your beauty is real to me
Not conjecture, assumption, or theory
It is amazing, whole, and true
In my world pure beauty is you

 

To define it makes it real
At least that how I feel
Undefined denotes a lie
It's a who and then a why
It's a clearly translucent thing
Based on fictions, desires, and dreams

 

NO!

I will take what I know is real
Something I can hold, touch, and feel

 

You my Venus of the day
A love to cherish in everyway

For in love I look to you
My example of beauty true

So when poetics ask "who"
I will define true beauty as you!
