SOMETHING YOU NOW KNOW!

SOMETHING YOU NOW KNOW!

A Poem by Eddie Phillips
"

Sometimes we live with hurt and ignore it and pretend its not real. Living in a abusive relationship is crap.

"

You think you know me because I wear your expensive ring?
Well honey, sweetie, baby; my love doesn’t cost a thing.
You assume you know me because I stayed all these years
Well darling understand; those years just count my tears!
I'm sure you don't know me, and I know you never will
I was just a toy to play with, another hole that you could fill!

I was a fool to even trust you; I shouldn't have let you steal my heart!
You just pretended to love me; a skillful actor playing a part.
It wasn’t just your cheating spirit; even though that took some gall
It's not just your audacious character that you define as "Balls!"
See, I could forgive your cheating, or even you hitting me in fights
But I can never forgive the tears you made me cry every night

I asked God for a partner; a friend to be there in times of need
I asked God for a lover, a lover that would help me grow our seeds.
All you gave me was lies and anger, bitter strife and endless pain
When I was trying to be spotless you came along to make a stain
So I have decided to leave you, I can't take anymore; I Gotta Go!
I leave you with this poem, to have something about me you now know!

ometimes we live with hurt and ignore it and pretend its not real. Living in a abusive relationship is crap. To often the abuser thinks they have the persons mind and that they know them. That is what this poem is about.

Beautiful but is religion really an issue in a couples life? So sad they break up because they are not sharing in the same faith. I believe same faith will keep the couples stronger. Thanks for sharing this wonderful thought, the word play is brilliant keep writing Bro.

Wow. Very good one Eddie.
Too often people rush into valueless and sentimental relationships which most often lead to their hurt and suffering. Impatience, desperation, loneliness...a few reasons for this maybe; but i know if we'd all chill for the Giver of ALL good gifts, we'd most assuredly find that happy ending. :)
Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately too close to reality for me.
Abuse is sad and once an abuser usually always an abuser....it is deeply rooted. I am not saying they cannot change I am saying they usually do not.
Excellently written.
