Never Let Go

Never Let Go

A Poem by Jose Waldo
"

I hoped for the life of me I would never have to let go

"

When I was 10 my parents left each other.

On they day they told me,

we sat on the couch in defining silence

and forced ourselves into the harsh reality ahead.

I still remember the emptiness in my heart

and the sickness in my stomach.

I was lost so far into the darkness all light had disappeared.

The sound of my mothers trembling voice triggered a painful lump in my throat.

You know the feeling.

I couldn’t stand the thoughts in my head,

So I grabbed my mothers shirt,

I hoped for the life of me I would never have to let go.

Life is full of pain but it takes strength to move forward and write pieces like this. Very soulful piece, good work at portraying what this moment felt like in your life.
