Chapter 18A Chapter by E. Kang
George needed to find a date for the Ball. He had originally planned to ask Sage, but the cursed Durmstrang boy had beaten him to it. He wondered who was still without a date. George went to Fred for help.
"Y'know mate, it's your fault for waiting so long to ask her," Fred said, sprawled on his bed in their dormitory. "I know, I know. Just help me get a date!" George said, frustrated. He was pacing. "Alright, well I heard from Angelina that Katie Bell had been complaining that no one has asked her," Fred said. "Ah, well, apparently some unfortunate boys have asked, but they were boring Hufflepuff fifth-years." George stopped pacing. He looked at Fred. "Well do you know where she is now?" "Yep! Saw her down in the common room ten minutes ago when we walked in." George ran down into the common room, hoping Katie was still there. Fortunately, she was. He causally sat down next to her after shooing away her friends. "Hey Katie," he drawled. Katie rolled her eyes. "Hello George," she said. George put on a charming smile. "Want to go to the Ball with me?" he asked Katie looked at him. "What makes you think I'll say yes?" she asked, rolling her eyes. George blinked. He hadn't expected this. "Hey, I'm kidding! I'd love to go with you," Katie said, smiling. It was George's turn to roll his eyes. "Ha-ha. Good one, Katie. Had me going for a bit there," George grinned. Katie laughed. "Alright, well I better get back up to see Fred. He might've burned the whole dormitory down in my absence, " George said. "Oh, alright then. Wouldn't want dearest Fred to get burned alive or anything," Katie said, faking concern. George grinned and went back up to the boys' dormitory. He gave Fred a satisfied smile and a thumbs-up once he sat down on his bed. Then his smile faded. "One of the Durmstrang boys asked Sage to the Ball," George stated. "Then he kissed her after she said yes." "That's rough," Fred said sympathetically. "We could put something nasty in his dress robes on the night of the Ball so that Sage won't go near him." He smiled brightly when George looked over. "That wouldn't make Sage very happy, though." "You really like her, don't you?" "I guess I do," George sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Do you think she'll ever feel the same way for me?" George asked. "'Course, mate! You're George Weasley, for crying out loud!" George glared at his twin. "That didn't help," he said, sighing. "Hey," Fred said," she'll come around." "I hope so," said George. "I really hope so."
