Querido

Querido

A Poem by Elana Juli Royson

Like the embers of a fire,
that flame still exists
As if the light never dwindled,
and life did not resist.
Like the final chord of a song
left ringing in your head,
You still hum a gentle harmony
to the melody I dread.
Like a note in a closet
buried deep for years
your face ignites a memory
that leaves me drenched in tears.
Like the final words of our play
that leave a mark upon your skin
I look back in bittersweet
and remember what might have been.
Light the embers from the fire
for that flame still exists.
The light was us in a darkness
in an Act that still persists.

It is hard to believe that I am the first to review this work but the truth is that I enjoyed this more than your snowman work. The message here is much clearer and the beginning and conclusion worked very well together. Al nice job, thanks for giving this to us.
