I Think I'm in Love with a SnowmanA Poem by Elana Juli RoysonI think I'm in love with a snowman and for that, let me explain. It's not much to do with snow but more to do with pain. It started with a hopeful wish asking the first star to not be alone. Knowing that would take me only half way, I started a quest of my own. Along my journey I found a wood with trees blanketed in white and there in the center clearing stood a snowman pure and bright. Perfectly sculpted, pale as can be, a cap of bright red on his head, with him I spent beautiful days but found too many words unsaid. I realized it was a forbidden thing to hold onto something so evanescent I knew that soon the sun would shine and my snowman would cease to be present. So I went home one lonely night and thought about what I'd done. I'd fallen in love with a snowman whose fate was with the morning sun. Should I selfishly try to save him or let him follow his destiny? I don't want to lose my snowman yet to keep him would guilt me heavily. I've fallen in love with a snowman and tomorrow he will be gone so this night I'm left to wonder if my love is right or wrong. 7-5-2012
